A lot has happened since the last post...where to start???
As I type this, I'm having a hard time reaching around my belly. This last month is going to feel like forever. I'm sure the picture to the right says enough... I'm very uncomfortable. I'm not sleeping much because my lungs are being smashed and when I do sleep, its usually upright.
Anyhow, as far as excitement is concerned, I've had some wonderful things happen lately. Last Thursday night (the 1st), I was having excruciating back pain. It started around 9pm and I could not get comfortable. I kept telling Ronnie how bad it hurt and he said take some Tylenol. I was just aggravated at that point because I knew that Tylenol wasn't going to cure this pain. By 12:30 I told him I needed to go to the ER. He called my doctor and explained my symptoms and my OB said to take me to labor and delivery. Could this be it? I knew that labor pains could start in your lower back, but I didn't know the back pain would be this bad. I knew contractions would be the killer...
I could tell Ronnie was nervous, and he accidentally hit a ground hog on the way to the hospital which made the trip that much more exciting. They plugged me in to all the fetal monitoring and it turned out, no contractions... So, we headed up for another sonogram so they could view my kidneys and bladder. Since it was 4am by then, and the tech wasn't busy, she asked if we wanted to see the baby while we were in there. She couldn't get over how much hair he had. This is the second tech that has mentioned something about a full head of hair. It honestly looked like he had bangs or even a mohawk, but I guess we'll find out soon.
Anyhow, turns out I passed a kidney stone. My OB came in the next morning and just looked and me and said 'you poor thing.' He said that I will be experiencing two of the most painful things a person can go through in one month's period. You know, the pain that I felt was excruciating, BUT I can handle it. Contractions might give you a break here and there until the last several, but this passing of the kidney stone didn't let up for a good 4 hours. I can do it!!! And, now, I have much more confidence that I can drug free, so maybe this kidney stone was a little test.
